I might be skanky

Sunday, January 30th, 2011

I disgust me!

I think I’m a clean person!

What causes a person to do this?

This pile is directly beside MY bed. I don’t know why I haven’t reached down and picked them up. I have no reason or excuse. I just noticed it this weekend and thought, “Hmmm, what in the world am I doing with a sock mountain here?”.

Gross!

Note to me:
When you slip off your socks at night and hop into bed….don’t forget to take them to the laundry basket in the morning.
Love,
Skank princess

70 Never Looked So Good

Friday, January 28th, 2011

I still remember the first time I met her. It was at church. I was a guest of her son. She was beautiful, loving and welcoming. I knew instantly that I would love her a long time. And so did God.

I didn’t know then but she would soon be my mother-in-law.

Today she turns 70 which is crazy because she acts like she’s 40 (and I act 70). She’s fun-spirited and full of wild ideas. I can’t get around her that I don’t laugh at her shenanigans. I know exactly where my fun husband gets his sense of humor. I LOVE THEM BOTH!! πŸ˜‰

In the 22 years that I’ve known her…she’s taught me what it means to love others (even unlovable people) and about forgiveness (even when it hurts to do it). Her faith in Christ is evident and her willingness to share Jesus with her family blesses me. She went from being a mother of two sons to a mother-in-law to two daughters and a grandmother to three grandkids and made it all look easy.

I hope some of that grace rubbed off on me!

I wish you sweet birthday blessings MARY SUE GALLOWAY!! May this day be special in everyway. You deserve a big fancy party with all the cutesy little foods you love. If I were there….we’d do it! Maybe next year, right? Celebrate and know WE ARE THINKING OF YOU way up here! I hope you know what a jewel you are to your family.

You are the greatest Proverbs 31 example I could ever ask for.

I LOVE YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

The Readers

Tuesday, January 25th, 2011

Remember my story confession about my need to see? I laid my soul bare for the world when I blabbed about my blindness. It was humbling, ok?

Hello….who wants to be called old?

Even though….if the shoe fits? πŸ˜‰

I broke down and bought the suckers, ok? Matter of fact, I bought two pair. After sitting in church on Sunday…..squinting like the sun was blaring into my corneas, I decided NO MORE!!! I couldn’t even see the words in THE WORD!

Not cool, ya’ll!

I drove directly to Walgreens, grabbed the Sunday sale ad and boom, right on the front page was the Buy One Get One Free ad for READERS!! Yay me!

Since then….I’ve been dizzy, cross-eyed and just all around out of sorts (visually). I am trying so hard to get used to them. One of my big problems is using them to work on the computer and turning to do something else. Major adjustment!

But guess what? I CAN SEE WHAT I’M READING NOW!!!

Take a look at mamaw & papaw.

Twitter Hates Me

Monday, January 24th, 2011

I’m following along on Monday nights with Lysa Terkeurst’s Made To Crave webcasts. Each time, the twitter folks are hot and heavy tweeting away. I am jealous. I try to tweet along (ilke the rest of the cool kids). But, I can’t figure out how.

I tweet. Then I never see my tweet anywhere except on my own page and who wants to come over there and tweet with me when all the action is over at Made To Crave? Grrr!

I STINK!!!

Then after all the fun at MTC….the (in)courage chicks had a Twitter Party going on. Double grrrr! Again, I tried and tried to chat along and instead ended up looking like the reject kid not getting picked for any of the teams. Embarrassing!

When……when will I learn to twitter like all the cool people?

I think I might be twitter-tarded! And I do not mean that in an insulting way to anyone! Promise! I really have NO CLUE!!

Pray for me!?

My twitter handle?

Skinny Cupcakes

Sunday, January 23rd, 2011

If you bake skinny cupcakes….are the calories skinny too?

No? I didn’t think so. But, don’t tell my chub…I’m living as if anyway!

On my fun trip to IKEA with my girlfriends Friday….I purchased the cutest cupcake pan ever. The cupcake holes are skinny & tall! I love it and I knew my girls would too. I even bought two packages of the skinny chic cupcake papers (you know, in case I never find them again!). Tell me I’m not the only one that thinks like that?

Snowdays are tough

Thursday, January 20th, 2011

YEP, this kept me locked down inside all day. I specifically loved the 5am morning wake-up call to tell me STAY HOME! Falling back to sleep after that little taste of startle…indescribable! Ahh, precious times.

Maybe I’m just bitter because I fell asleep during episode #17 from season 1 (yes, I’m watching shows from 2004) of Lost. I’ve been looking forward to some free-time to lounge around in pj’s watching this awesome show. Somehow, my tv snobbery kept me from ever finding the amazingness that is Lost when it was, you know….actually on tv.

I like to think of myself as current.

Guess what? NO SCHOOL again tomorrow. Luckily, we were able to find out in advance. Nice, huh? I have been invited to go to IKEA with my school BFF Betsy and her sisters (and sweet baby Amelia). Only the weather is rather awful.

Darn it, I really love IKEA. But hubby’s right…..no go if the roads are icy. You’ll find me here with my friends LOST on a deserted island. Either way, my day off looks promising.
