My Week in Pics

Wednesday, April 30th, 2014

I know how riveting it is to follow my life……I mean, really.  I'm living it.  Somedays, it feels as though full throttle is the name of the game.   So much has happened lately, I figured I'd just show you in pics!

Oh, you're welcome.  Kind readers!!

Friday night.  Menards, flowers and a ton of other project stuff to occupy our beautiful weekend.

I am going to leave out the pictures of where I tried to kill myself in my living room (Friday night).  "Someone" left a bed frame, put together in the middle of the LR and I went in to check a door and fell injuring almost all of my body.

My gardener. He slaves away to give me all the pretty flowers in the world.

It's getting prettier! I love having a sunshine covered yard.

Then a quick cruise through a nearby neighborhood landed my hubby here….moving bricks for a new hot tub!

It's installed and we've used it, once. My hubby's gone to Texas and the storms have kept the hottub closed. Soon little buddy!

In case you are wondering…. I wore a pant suit for the luncheon.  Skint up knees to thank.

A little VIP elbow rubbing. They even let me past security like I belonged there. Teehee

Uhh, just Sandy Patty and her hubby singin' for the First Lady and her friends.

$100,000 raised for Riley Hospital.

The First Lady and my favorite hostess friend Sandra Hageman with some of her team.

Seriously, how pretty is this table. I purchased my own Vera tablecloth. They were too beautiful not to.

Y'all, this really happened to me. We're practically besties! It's like she's singing just for me. 😉

Talk about First Lady swag…….Vera Bradley designed these bags (pattern exclusive) just for us!!! No one else gets it, ever…. say what? I love all things Vera!!

It's been a busy and expensive week but a blessed one too.

God,

I love my life.  Even when it's chaotic and costly.  Thank you for the many ways you care for me and the people I love.

Amen

Where’s My Cape?

Don't you hate it when your plans go all awry?  You know, accepting a sub job for the day or getting your hair done?  All kaput for a kid emergency?

Yea, that's the life of a mom!

super girl mom

I've just had to "cancel" subbing a 1/2 day position that I accepted on Friday for today.  I felt so bad about doing it but what else could I do?  I have a kid dying in pain and the Endodontist had a 1:00pm appointment.  Besides, who doesn't want to give away $1300 doll hairs on a rainy Monday?  Duh, no one!

This is what happens when you have a back molar go crazy and abcess over the weekend.  Poor guy was in so much pain — luckily in our arsenal of meds, he had a prescription of HydroCo…from his wisdom teeth surgery (that he never needed) and he slept through much of the pain for over 12 hours.

These are the moments that moms everywhere understand….you just have to drop whatever else you had planned and DO WHAT HAS TO BE DONE!

super mama

Hope you feel better soon, son!

It’s Friday and you know what that means….

image

Jeans day baby!!

I’m still adjusting to the new noises of living in a different house.  This morning when I woke up, I thought I was hearing someone frying food, like chinese food….only it was raining on my crazy angled roofed house.

No fry rih fo you!

I’ve had a great week at school.  It’s fun being with students that are hard-working and driven, they love learning and I get it because I do too.  Only I’m not hankering to hone my skills in the AP Honors Bio world.   I’m more of a street smart mama!

True story.

It’s also prom weekend here.  Who gets to have their prom at the Indy Children’s Museum?  I’m jealous and even a little sad.  This will be my first year in…..I can’t say how long that I won’t be chaperoning all the pretty dressed sweaty punks.

No worries though…

My empty nest got a little messed up this week.  Number 1 son moved, piece by piece to our quiet house along with his big energy – filled dog (Gracie).  A mess that will take plenty of time to organize and make homey.

Wish me luck and much creativity.   Our stuff/space ratio is perhaps off a bit.

Ever notice…

image

It’s true!

image

Time is short, finding something wrong with everyone around you and with every detail of your life is nonsense!

No joke, if you’re a chronic griper…..you reveal a great deal about yourself. So, snap out if it!

image

And for goodness sakes, STOP posting it on Facebook!!! We get it, you are superior and everything you do is top notch!

image

Some things we just can’t control….like who buys your house or the staff that works in your fave tanning salon. However, we can control how we will respond when the rudeness or jerkiness comes out.

My advice….pray for them!!! Misery ain’t no happy place to live!

Think before you speak (or post). Especially if you’re criticizing others! (WHO JUST MIGHT READ OR HEAR WHAT YOU’RE SAYING!)

Bike Weather

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2014

This weekend was so beautiful.  After such a harsh winter, any sunny days that allow green grass to show….is bordering on the edge of sweet summertime and let’s go swimming weather.

I don’t lie.   The slightest bit of warmth equals people outside doing fun-in-the-sun activites.

image

image

Just passing by…

Someday, we’ll have to get our own bikes. Not share just one.

image

There was even a little sun bathing on the back patio. It’s been covered with old carpeting and snow for too long.

Everyone enjoyed the weather outside.

I love spring!!!

Facebook Prayin’

Monday, April 21st, 2014

Yesterday, I posted my family's obligatory Easter pics on Facebook for the whole world to see because doesn't everyone want to see how much older other families look?  Or how everyone has changed and gotten fatter?  Of course they do.   By this morning the pictures had generated over 60+ likes or comments.   As I read through the names I couldn't help but think of what each person means to me or my family.  Every person, special for one reason or another.   Then, I pictured that friend in my mind and thought about the joys, struggles, grief and pain each of them live with everyday.  What a great opportunity for me to pray for my friends and family!

Who doesn't need prayer?

Life is full of ups and downs,  joys, sorrow… good days, bad and victories too.  Knowing the lives of friends and family (you & I) have a window into what they need most.  So, why not pray for them?

Lord,
You went all-out when you filled my heart and life up with friends & family.   Thank you for each one of them.  Help me to honor them and influence each one for YOUR GLORY!
Amen

Now how about some Easter pictures!!!

I still can't believe how fast this day came… grown up kids on Easter 2014!

My favorite man!

I hope your weekend was as beautiful as ours!  He is risen, friends!
